Kindness Matters 365
Rachel’s Kindness Matters Movement is an extension of…
The Samaritans365 Foundation, Inc. is a Florida not-for-profit organization that educates children as to the importance of being kind to themselves and to others, and contributing to society so that they may make a positive impact in their communities and the world. In this Kindness program, children are given the opportunity to experience acts of charity and kindness by participating in afterschool clubs, charitable organizations, and community events, all of which promote kindness.
The Samaritans365 Foundation offers Kindness Club Programs, in which speakers of local community organizations and charities, visit the children while inspiring and educating the participants. The participants engage in activities and projects in partnership with the organizations and charities to attain various charitable goals.
Through participation in the Samaritans365 Club, students learn what it means to be a “Samaritan” (n. a compassionate person who unselfishly helps others). They are taught different ways to contribute, the experience of joy derived from giving, and the difference it can make in the lives of others in their community and beyond. The children have the opportunity to listen to interesting and professional speakers who provide age-appropriate, hands-on projects that the children enjoy doing while learning.
Our programs are led by Certified Samartians365 Ambassadors who attend our Ambassador Training program that includes detailed instructions about how to establish and manage a club, a Child Safety Training Webinar, a signed Agreement and a comprehensive background check. A teacher is also present during our club meetings to assist our Ambassadors and care for our Samaritans.
In middle, high school, and college, the students are eligible to become Ambassadors and Community Leaders. Middle school students can lead alongside their parent, while high school and college students can step up and shine by taking the lead. For our high school clubs, a parent must be present to support and assist the Ambassadors. There must be a minimum of one and may be a maximum of four Ambassadors per club, each of whom take on particular positions and tasks to ensure the club is managed properly. This provides an opportunity for our next generation of leaders to learn the very important life skills of working collectively as a team, as well as personal responsibility.
Our ultimate goal is that children of all ages and backgrounds become active and engaged members of their communities and that they ultimately grow into service-oriented community leaders and global environmentalists for today and generations to come.
